Biography

Mighty Nice is a creative lead studio of directors, designers, and artists headed up by Nexus’ previous Head of 3D, Darren Price. Their first short film ‘Potapych: The Bear Who Loved Vodka’ scooped a BAFTA for ‘Best Animation’. The studio has gone on to win many awards in advertising and broadcast including best 2D Animation Design for their SBS Idents at the Promax/BDA Awards 2009 and multiple Promax awards for the work on Foxtel's Embarrassing Bodies Down Under in 2014.

One of Nexus' most awarded films is the Nike Foundation’s “The Girl Effect” for Wieden+Kennedy. Winning a BAF award, Mighty Nice gained further recognition when it was included in TEDtalks’ Ten ads Worth Spreading.

Other members of the Mighty Nice team have also seen great success recently with Alex Grigg's short film "The Phantom Limb" accepted into Sundance 2014, and  his title sequence for Bottersnikes and Gumbles winning silver at the 2016 Promax/BDA Awards.

Continuing to pull together quality work for global and local brands, Mighty Nice  have also recently launched two children’s TV series’, with ‘Bottersnikes & Gumbles’ currently screening on Netflix, BBC and Channel 7, and ‘Kazoops!’ currently showing on Cbeebies and ABC KIDS.
