Artist and animation director Niki Lindroth von Bahr found her way to filmmaking after studying prop design for film and theatre. She meticulously handcrafts sets and puppets as well as authentic surroundings in miniature in order to tell darkly humorous tales, often with a vaguely surreal filter.
films Bath House (Simhall, 2014) and Tord & Tord (Tord and Tord, 2010) were screened at
festivals around the world including Sundance, Berlinale and Annecy. Her third
film, apocalyptic musical The
Burden (Min Börda) will premiere at the 2017 Directors’
Fortnight in Cannes.
