Nexus Studios’ Director Cozar has directed a beautiful new spot for the BBC promoting a year long ‘Tomorrow’s World’ season of science and technology programmes and online content.
In creating ‘Auntie’; a living algorithm
who can answer questions about the future, artists started with a CG model of a
human face before animation took place. Finally,
a particle system was created and layered on top with particles
occasionally dispersing, swirling and reforming to illustrate the answers to the questions being asked.
Of the objects in question Director Cozar says:
“It’s not so hard to make a beautiful landscape or face, by default these can be beautiful and it’s not so hard to interpret those things. Making a piece of cheese, a dustpan or a parsnip look beautiful, technological and interesting can be more of a challenge but we got there!”
