Today we announced an episodic multi-media collaboration with Room to Read, dedicated to spotlighting the real stories of six girls impacted by the charity’s programme.

K.J. writes “The film series will be comprised of six animated shorts accompanied by live action mini documentaries. They will feature young women from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Tanzania and Vietnam who are forced to advocate for themselves while confronting different challenges in their lives, from early marriage to food scarcity. The stories will also address menstruation, sexual harassment and financial literacy, among other topics.”

This emotive project was brought to life by a collective of diverse women directors and a crew predominantly made up of women, recruited and led by Nexus Studios’ Executive Producer Julia Parfitt and producer Electra Fotopoulou
