Thrilled to have the She Creates Change premiere at the Tribeca X Awards tonight and the Room to Read team on the ground representing this special project. The animated docu-series follows six young women in low-income communities discovering their own power. We curated a diverse line-up of directors to helm each of the six films. 

This all comes hot of the heels of actress Charithra Chandran (who voices the titular character “Keya” in the short directed by Bonnie Taylor Forsyth) was announced as Room to Read’s global ambassador. You might recognise Charithra from Bridgerton or the Alex Rider series. 

She explains, “I want this project with Room to Read to show young women around the world that we see them, they are not alone and we are all in this together. I hope seeing Keya be the (super)hero of her story, encourages other girls that they are the heroes of their stories too.”
