Fx Goby’s ‘Welcome to the City of Love’ picked up a Gold in the Ad of the Year: 2D Animation category at the Shots EMEA Awards.  This honour is testament to the world-class creative, craft and direction behind this labour of love. Shots celebrates the most inspirational creative work worldwide, and we hope this recognition highlights 2D’s unique contribution to branded creative work. 

Commissioned by BBC Creative for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, ‘Welcome to the City of Love’ celebrates Paris as the city of love while drawing a parallel between romantic love and the all-consuming passion athletes feel towards their sports. It celebrates Paris but not through the lens of clichés. Instead, it’s an exploration of the city’s authentic spirit. The final result, an exhilarating choreography of 58 shots and 36 athletes all fit into just 60 seconds of breathtaking animated film.

Early in its award run, City of Love has already received nods from the likes of Manchester Animation Festival and was featured in the prestigious APA Show. We’re immensely grateful to BBC Creative and BBC Sport for providing us the canvas to showcase our passion.
