Hear from them below…

Rachel – Head of Production

“One of the standout moments early in my career was landing my first dream job as a researcher on the iconic Australian live music show Recovery. The role required generating off-beat story ideas about people from all walks of life, so I took the initiative to compile a list, which secured me an interview.

There was never a dull moment working on the show —the energy, the unpredictability of live TV, and being surrounded by the best music of the time made it an amazing experience. Recovery taught me the importance of stepping up, having ideas, and taking initiative in an environment that truly encouraged creativity and bold thinking.”

Andrea Zantiras – Junior Editor

“I had the amazing opportunity to work on three Gorillaz music videos very early on in my career. A year after completing my internship at Nexus Studios and being promoted to Edit Assistant, I edited a teaser of our third Gorillaz music video ‘Silent Running’ for MTV, which was broadcast on the billboards in Times Square and shared across the band’s official social media accounts. This was an incredibly fulfilling moment, as I went from assisting our brilliant Senior Editor to witnessing something that I had creatively edited reach over 100,000 fans and viewers. I was promoted to Junior Editor shortly after this wonderful experience and have been honoured to lead the edit on a number of sensational projects in the two years since.”

Marylou Mao – Lead Animator

“Back in 2022, I was trusted to lead a team of animators on a wonderful film celebrating Wimbledon’s 100-year anniversary of its centre court. This was my first experience as an Animation lead with Nexus Studios and I fell in love with the team-building and problem-solving aspects of the role! Not only did the team do a stellar job but I also made great friends and ultimately was offered a full-time position at Nexus Studios. I’m still grateful to this day for the amazing experience!”

Kristin Glushon – Executive Producer, Experience Design

“Early in my career, I learned that mentorship isn’t just about advice—it’s about access. I had mentors who saw something in me before I fully did, and that support shaped my path. But as I moved forward, I saw how many women weren’t getting those same chances.

So while leading the LA chapter of the Women’s Leadership Network at IPG, we started Mentorship Circles—peer-led groups where women and their allies could support each other in real ways. It wasn’t about waiting for the perfect mentor but creating space to grow, take on challenges, and navigate big career moments—together.”

That experience still shapes how I approach my career today—at Nexus, in my nonprofit work, and as a mom showing my kids that no career is built alone. Success isn’t just about the path you take; it’s about who you bring with you.
