We are beyond thrilled to share the announcement of Blumhouse Enhanced Cinema, revealed live on stage by Mark Zuckerberg on day one of Meta Connect 2025 during the highly anticipated keynote.

Blumhouse Enhanced Cinema reimagines fan-favourite films like M3GAN and The Black Phone with immersive visual effects and spatial audio designed to make the thrills leap off the screen. It’s an invitation to step inside the Blumhouse universe – where suspense, dread, and terror surround you from every angle.

Developed by Nexus Studios in collaboration with Meta, Universal Pictures, and Blumhouse, this project brings a new dimension to the genre, coming soon exclusively to Meta Quest.

Adding to the excitement was a surprise appearance from legendary filmmaker James Cameron, who spoke about the future of immersive storytelling through 3D cinema. He highlighted how this type of immersion can create a deeper sense of presence and emotion.

Connecting with the excitement of announcements from Mark Zuckerberg’s keynote and James Cameron’s inspiring perspective on immersive cinema, coverage has already appeared in Meta’s official blog, PCMag, UploadVR, Engadget, The Verge, and Tom’s Guide.

Meta Connect Developer Keynote 2025

On the Ground at Meta Connect

Meta Connect is Meta’s flagship event, bringing together global leaders in technology, creativity, and innovation to showcase what’s next in VR, AR, and beyond. The Nexus Studios team; Co-Founder & CCO Chris O’Reilly, Executive Producer Kristin Glushon, and Director Mike Anderson, were there across both days to experience it all first-hand.

Joining attendees at the Keynote sessions and in the Blumhouse demo space, watching first-hand as people stepped inside Blumhouse Enhanced Cinema for the very first time. The eerie set dressing and moody atmosphere set the stage before anyone even put on a headset, perfectly capturing the spirit of the films.

Beyond the screams, Meta Connect was a celebration of innovation and community. We were proud to share the excitement with our partners at Meta, Universal Pictures, and Blumhouse as we explored what the future of immersive storytelling looks like together.
