The New York Times Reviews ‘Happier Than Ever’
Following its launch on Disney+, The New York Times reviewed Billie Eilish’s new concert film Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles, which we created alongside our collaborators Interscope Films, Disney+, Robert Rodriguez and Patrick Osborne.
The New York Times writer, Teo Bugbee remarked that the film pays tribute to the “star-struck hauntedness of that city” both through the animated sequences and the choice of venue with Billie performing to an absent crowd on the stage of the iconic Hollywood Bowl amphitheater. Teo goes on to comment that “strobe lights flash, and the directors, Robert Rodriguez and Patrick Osborne, swirl the camera, peering down at Eilish with distant drone shots. But despite the modern technology, the setting and the sound draws attention to what is retro about this young star’s style.”
