Code for Equality
Google’s Made with Code initiative unveiled Code for Equality to raise awareness for the United Nations Global Goals for our planet. The online project was launched at the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park, New York. Girls are encouraged to begin coding by choosing an issue that matters most to them and therefore becoming part of the change.
The actress Priyanka Chopra introduced the project and girl coders saying “The girls you see on stage and screen are coding to fight inequality, to increase peace, and to end poverty”. Through the use of code, girls are given a stage to educate UN leaders and the world on what matters most to them and inspire others to promote their cause.
