Cózar crafted this dramatic, powerful film to artistically visualise the liver’s deterioration caused by smoking. The film begins with the ignition moment, a flame sparking to life, signalling the countdown. From the outset, it’s clear that the clock is ticking not on time, but on our health.

A striking palette of deep blacks and intense reds contrasts with the background, the liver, and the advancing damage. The liver appears with a smouldering glow that pulsates and radiates, with orange embers that glow brightly below the tissue and begin to erode it. The typography, bold and wide-bodied, is corroded in places, mirroring the film’s tone and the liver’s decay.
