JR Reality is a community experiment that invites users globally to go outside, explore their local areas, and pin virtual messages on a living mural. We worked closely with the renowned artist himself, alongside his studio, JR Studio, Superblue, and Niantic’s team of in-house developers to leverage the power of the Lightship VPS, and produce a beta experience that allows users localise personalised AR content anywhere in the world, for others to engage with.

JR Reality was announced as part of Niantic CEO John Hanke’s hero keynote at the Lightship Summit, and will become available to download from all stores in the Fall of 2022. The beta can be downloaded here.
