Can AR provide a lifeline to the theatre and live entertainment industries? Collaborating with StoryFutures we reimagined The Tempest in AR to find out.

Based on the findings of this extensive R&D project we developed a groundbreaking prototype for streaming live performances to the home in AR. Rather than relying on expensive hardware or specialist motion capture suits, our approach was to use consumer grade technology making this accessible to smaller and medium sized venues.

Audiences are granted unprecedented access to change sets and manipulate scenes by adapting the lighting or interacting with the environment as well as getting up close and personal with characters as the performance is happening.
