This delicate and eerie music video for Nils Frahm’s Re was entirely hand-drawn, then reconstructed in 3D space, layer by layer. To achieve this effect, a custom script was developed to make the process feel as intuitive as working in compositing software.

The film follows a lone deer as it moves through a surreal, shifting environment. Time seems to distort moving between slow motion, real time, and something closer to timelapse, creating a hypnotic, dreamlike rhythm.

The narrative draws from the story behind the album: after breaking his finger, Nils composed the tracks while recovering. Limited by injury, the music took on a new, fragile resonance. The video connects to this process, an expression of healing, but also of quiet loss.
