She Creates Change
She Creates Change is a groundbreaking new series combining live-action documentary and animation sharing the stories of six unique girls who use life skills to overcome obstacles and transform their lives.
Created in collaboration with Room to Read, a global education nonprofit creating a world free from illiteracy and gender inequality, and Martha Adams as series director, Nexus Studios produced the animation and curated the female, diverse directorial talent. The series has already been recognised by the likes of Tribeca X, SXSW EDU, Manchester Animation Festival, London Short Film Festival, and the British Animation Awards.
After its premiere on Discovery channels, including Discovery Asia, TLC India and Discovery+ India, on International Women’s Day, the film released on YouTube on October 11th in celebration of International Day of the Girl.

When she faced harassment and violence on her way to school, Keya was forced to shelter at home. Refusing to accept her fate, Keya stood up for justice and demanded that her community protect its young women.
When discriminated against because of her dark skin, Diksha discovered the power of self-love and became a compassionate leader for girls at risk of missing school during menstruation due to societal beliefs.

Without a stable income, Trang’s family struggled to make ends meet. Despite barriers, Trang used her talents to launch a comedy show on YouTube, supporting herself and her family as she became a national icon.
Selected for the London Short Film Festival.
After her parents’ divorce punished her self-esteem, Naifat discovered music and found newfound confidence in herself and her future through the power of her own voice.
To defend herself against constant harassment, Yashika took up karate and learned resilience as she channeled her feelings toward action. She went on to become a national gold medalist, and taught other girls to defend themselves.
