— The Girl Who Built a Rocket

For her first commissioned short, Neeraja created this touching 2D animated film telling the story of Fara, a little girl from Madagascar, who dreams of being an astronaut in hope of finding water on Mars.

The launch of the beautifully crafted film coincides with three Mars missions going into orbit and was ideated by creative agency, Don’t Panic, to shift the spotlight on to the search to find water here on Earth. The piece includes a voiceover by award-winning journalist Sir Trevor McDonald and features a specially composed soundtrack of David Bowie’s iconic Life on Mars, 50 years after its original release.
