We are delighted to announce the Oscar-nominated director and animator, Siqi Song has joined Nexus Studios. Siqi creates rich, tactile and thought-provoking work that tackles personal themes such as tradition, family and immigration with charm and humour.

Siqi was named a Film Independent Directing Fellow in 2018, a BAFTA Los Angeles Newcomer in 2019 with her films screened internationally at numerous film festivals including Sundance, SXSW, Annecy, Ottawa and more. Siqi’s stop-motion film, ‘SISTER’ explores what it was like to grow up with a sibling at the height of China’s One Child Policy, challenging perceptions of family and identity. Written, designed and animated by Siqi, the film earned her Oscar and Annie Award nominations in 2020.
