World VFX Day, established in 2023, celebrates the global community of professionals in Visual Effects (VFX), Animation, and Gaming. It’s a day for camaraderie, with studios and artists worldwide coming together to recognise the immense skill and artistry behind visual effects in filmmaking. Through shared insights and knowledge, World VFX Day champions the craft, raises its profile globally, and aims to inspire positive change across the industry.

During his talk, “Headspace XR: Creating a Virtual Playground for the Mind”, Michael will dive into the challenges, both technical and artistic, of creating a virtual world on the Meta Quest platform. Michael will share key insights regarding lighting explorations, graphical shading, and optimisation and performance. You’ll be sure to take a lot away from this talk.
