Excited to share the news, our BBC Paris Olympics spot, directed by Fx Goby has been nominated for an Annie Award in the Best Sponsored category! ‘Welcome to the City of Love’, the 2D launch film, created for the BBC’s Paris 2024 Olympic Games coverage, was truly a labour of love, reflecting the commitment to craft and emotional storytelling we champion at Nexus Studios. It’s an incredible honour to receive this nomination.

The 52nd Annual Annie Awards will take place on February 8th at UCLA’s Royce Hall in Los Angeles, California, celebrating the industry’s top talent and this year’s standout films. 

The film beautifully parallels the romance of love with the passion athletes have for their sports. Collaborating closely with BBC Creative, Fx and the Nexus Studios team orchestrated 58 shots and 36 athletes into 60 seconds of breathtaking animation.
