We’re heading back to Austin for South by Southwest, taking place March 12-18 across the city. This year, Nexus Studios will be on the ground with the team and joining two panels to share our thoughts on the future of sports storytelling as well as spatialised formats in entertainment IP.

From Field to Fan: The Future of Sports Storytelling

Join Nexus Studios’ Co-Founder & CCO Chris O’Reilly, alongside Devon Fox (Senior Director, Program Management, PGA Tour), Lauren Fisher (VP, Creative Director, Religion of Sports) and Ryan Dornbusch (Head of Sports and Live Entertainment, Reality Labs, Meta) to discover how stories are expanding beyond the ring, pitch, course or court in sports. From documentary to spatial experiences, like our collaboration with UFC at Sphere, the conversation will explore how fan engagement and narrative innovation are driving culture in new ways.

The Next Evolution of XR & Shared Realities in Entertainment
11:30am – 12:30pm CT | Omni Downtown – Bridge Ballroom AB
Discover iconic worlds with Nexus Studios’ Executive Creative Director Deborah Casswell, joined by Eric Krueger (Head of Platform and Developer Strategy, Meta), Candice Afia (Sr. Director, Creative Innovation, Universal Pictures) and Alexis Scalice (VP of Business Development and Entertainment, Cosm), as they unpack how major IP is being reimagined in new formats from XR home cinema experiences like Blumhouse Enhanced Cinema to Cosm’s shared reality. Together, they’ll explore what audiences are responding to and new creative opportunities opening up as these mediums move towards the mainstream.
