Devin Crane
Director and visual tastemaker, Devin Crane’s illustrious credits include Space Jam: A New Legacy, Smallfoot, The Iron Giant, Shrek 2, Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon. His work spans animation direction, character design, production design, story and visual development, as well as illustration, fine art and design. Across these disciplines, he has a particular talent for creating memorable characters and building worlds with a strong sense of atmosphere.
Devin’s career began at just 17, when he joined Walt Disney Imagineering and was mentored by legendary Disney Art Director John Hench. He became the youngest designer ever to contribute concepts for a major theme park attraction, developing work for Pooh’s Honey Hunt at Tokyo Disneyland. For Space Jam: A New Legacy, Devin helped reimagine the Looney Tunes for a new generation, while on Smallfoot he shaped the film’s snowy environments and cast of yetis. His work is driven by curiosity and a hands-on approach to visual storytelling, whether he’s designing a feature film or creating an original painting.
