Niki Lindroth von Bahr
Meet master craftswoman and artist Niki Lindroth Von Bahr known for her stop-motion and puppetry work. Her creepy and relatable depiction of a home renovation nightmare caught critics’ attention in Netflix’s ‘The House’.
Niki’s work has garnered critical acclaim for her meticulously crafted, handmade puppets and sets with short films being screened at Cannes, Berlinale, Toronto and Sundance to name a few. Her 2017 short film ‘The Burden’, after premiering at Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes, went on to win 82 awards, including Best Short Film at Annecy, Toronto and Guldbaggen; that same year she was named one of Variety’s top 10 animators of the year. Despite her many animal characters, her work is deeply human, often darkly humorous, and always told through a slightly surreal lens.
