Siqi explores what it was like to grow up with a sibling at the height of China’s One Child Policy through this deeply personal and beautifully tactile, thought-provoking film which picked up an Academy Award and Annie nomination. 

Written, designed and animated by Siqi, the film explores the relationship between a brother and his irritating but loveable little sister in the 1990s. The short challenges perceptions of family and identity by capturing how his life could have been if his sister was never born.
