Shynola were brought on to illustrate the BBC and Netflix’s joint adaptation of Richard Adams’ iconic novel, Watership Down, and bring to life its opening credits. Using Chinese shadow puppets – which complemented the show’s 3D CGI rendering – the team created a textured world for the magic to take place in, balancing delicate cut-out animals with harsher abstract shapes to recreate the menacing children’s story.
