Carlos is as comfortable creating 3D animated blockbusters, sleek commercials and live theatre as he is directing a cast of real baboons in a live action music promo. The Mexican-born, LA-based Director’s multi-discipline approach to filmmaking makes him one the most exciting directors of today.

His many industry accolades include an Academy Award nomination for the Disney feature, ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’, a Latin Grammy win for his stop-motion video ‘Me Voy’ and a Directors Guild of America nomination in the Outstanding Directorial Achievement category for his breakout hit, ‘Blindspotting’.

Carlos was also named one of Variety’s 10 Directors to Watch, and his work has been featured in featured by SXSW, LA Film Festival, Cartoon Network and the Hammer Museum as well as high profile publications including Vice, TIME Magazine and The Guardian.

Carlos is currently directing a thought-provoking, animated feature documentary in production at Nexus Studios, set to release in 2023 as well as the live-action adaptation of Disney’s ‘Robin Hood’.
