We couldn’t be more pleased with the news coming from the Clio Music Awards: four of our projects were honoured with a total of six awards plus an extra shortlist for good measure!

The Clio Music Awards celebrates the important role music plays in connecting consumers to brands. A mission we connect to strongly here at Nexus Studios so we were thrilled to see some of our biggest and boldest projects from the last year being recognised by the jury.

‘Gorillaz Presents’, directed by Gorillaz co-creator,  Jamie Hewlett and Nexus Studios’ Fx Goby, took home a gold in the Experience & Activation category. It was an especially great announcement for collaborations between Jamie and Fx, with their music video for Gorillaz’s ‘ Silent Running’ also picking up a Bronze for Film & Video Craft: Animation. Find out more about ‘Gorillaz Presents’ here and ‘Silent Running’ here.

Next up, our groundbreaking interactive music video with WeTransfer and Jungle for their track ‘Back on 74’ picked up an impressive three silvers and a bronze! Shout out to the Nexus team who created an interactive art gallery as part of the launch. The J. Lloyd-directed video was a viral success with the hashtag #Backon74 accumulating more than 141 million views on TikTok. The music video was recognised as a Silver Winner in the Branded Entertainment & Content, Partnerships & Collaborations, and Integrated Campaign: Brand & Artist Collaboration categories; with a bronze win for Innovation. Finally, we were thrilled to see Meta’s ‘It’s Coi Leray’s World’, also directed by Fx Goby, shortlisted in the Best Use of Music in the 61 Seconds to Five Minute category. The collaboration between Meta, Droga5 and Nexus Studios brought together a world-class team of artists including character designer Isago Fukuda. Under Fx Goby’s direction, the film blended Coi’s unique sound with an authentic anime style. Watch the film and find out more here.
